1. A NEW BLOG I STARTED ABOUT MUSIC AND VIDEOS

    P.O.S. - Drumroll

P.O.S.! Doomtree! Rhymesayers Crew! I haven’t heard any other rapper that can touch the first verse of this song. I love this song and this album remains in heavy rotation around here. I still can’t get enough of it. SO THIRSTY FOR MOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!

  2. The Roots - Rock You

It’s been a little soft around here as of late. This should change it up a bit. I can’t say anything here about the Roots that somebody hasn’t said elsewhere. Phrenology is in my top 5 albums of all time. Rock You is one of my favorite hip-hop tracks. Black Thought crushes it here.

  3. Stone Temple Pilots - Still Empty

take a bath, i’ll drink the water that you leave. if you should die before me ask if you can bring a friend.

You’re kidding me right? Wait, I’ve always assumed he’s talking about a girl but not I just think he wrote the song for heroin. He was doing heroin during “Purple” right?

  4. Thrice - Music Box

This song was a spiritual revival for me.

we are not alone, we feel an unseen love
we are sons and heirs of grace
we are children of a light that never dims
a love that never dies, keep your chin up child
and wipe the tears from your eyes

I was at the warehouse and tears almost came to my eyes from this stupid song. Just kinda became overrun with emotions. Dustin Kensrues’ probably one of my favorite lyricist.

  5. The Thrills - Not For All The Love In The World

I heard this song for the first time during my first trip to L.A. That’s all it took, one time and I was hooked. I’d love to drive for miles and miles with a special someone! Love the Thrills.

  6. The Morning Benders - Excuses

I don’t really need to say why I would like this right? If you don’t like it..zip it. Nobody is interested in what you have to say anyways.

  7. Kings of Leon - Cold Desert

I love most everything these guys have done. And I’m perfectly OK with bands THIS GOOD becoming popular, at least there will be talent on the radio. I saw them play a show in Santa Barbara, CA. with Far (favorite band ever?) and they were amazing live. Just a great rock band. And the evolution from record to record has been pretty huge…I really dig it.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s - Lunatic, Lunatic, Lunatic

This song is off the new Margot record. I wasn’t too into it at first. Maybe because I’ve grown to love their earlier stuff so much that my expectations were too high. This song however I’ve grown to love over the course of today actually. I fell in love with this song and have listened to it about a dozen times today. I hope you guys like it.

  9. Civalias - No Escape

I met Adam through my old roommate Scott. I was really surprised at how good and how much I liked his music. Great choruses and all round great pop songs with some depth. This is one of my favorites he does. If you like this, find his song called “My Oh My”

    this is my jam

  10. Dr. Dog - Alaska

One of my favorites by a band that is writing JAMS. Not songs, but jams. Sitting on the front porch jams. I need a rum & coke….in a mason jar of course.
